Mantra I

MANTRA. Video intervention by Roxana Barraza (VjThai) & Projection Mapping by Media Selectah. First  IRL exhibition at THAIFHAI nomad gallery MARCH 2014.

I recorderd the live intervention with my Sony XPERIA Smartphone, and something strange seemed to happened, like if it there was a turbulence in the image that reacted to the sound of the waves! Don´t know why it happenned?

This is the first  IRL exhibition of MANTRA, as part of the first session THAIFHAI nomad gallery. It consisted of an audiovisual intervention by Roxana Barraza (VjThai) & Projection Mapping by Media Selectah,  that took place only for one night at a space in Escuela Adolfo Prieto, Centro de las Artes. Parque Fundidora, Monterrey, México.

MAR is the original video for the piece MANTRA, which consisted on an eternal loop with the sound of the waves coming and going. As the image fades away into white, only the sound remains forever… aiming at creating an image projection inside the viewers head, resulting of pure contemplation.

The space for MANTRA the video intervention by VjThai was originally a classroom from Escuela Adolfo Prieto, Centro de las Artes, located inside Parque Fundidora in Monterrey city. We had access to the space one night before, just a couple of hours to experiment with it´s vibe with the use of color projection and light.
